Redcliffs Village Library has been lending books in the Christchurch community for over 100 years, since the start of World War 1 in 1914. Starting in a butcher’s shop and ending up in the tennis clubroom after the earthquakes, the new Redcliffs Village Library opened in December 2016. Â
CS supplied a corner meeting door system which enables an area of the small library to be easily closed off from the rest of the library. CS NewYorker doors are top hung from CS WallMount Track. This room can be used for meetings and for work to be done in private, and when the doors are open there are no floor tracks through the opening, creating a greater sense of space.
The large glazed doors have manifestations applied to match the branding throughout of the rest of the library, and the CS track and carriage system ensures they slide smoothly with minimal effort.
