After years of planning, the clients were able to realise their dream of building an authentic 1900’s style home. Complete with timber joinery and weather boards to the exterior, the home is complemented by high ceilings and luxurious detailing to the interior.
The design specification was based on character homes they had come across while visiting the States. However, they did not want the 1900’s technology that came with some of these designs and set about looking into options available with home automation.
It was while working with the home automation specialist that they came across the idea of automated door systems and were introduced to a newly developed automated cavity slider - just like Star Trek! The really amazing thing was that no extra wall thickness was required.
The cavity slider idea was something that become a design feature throughout the whole home.
The architect was instructed to ensure all the doors were to be cavity sliding wherever possible, while at the same time retaining the traditional look.
The end result is a stunning recreation of yesteryear detail along with modern features that don’t intrude on the overall look and feel of the place. This is a home that will remain an understated masterpiece for years to come.
