Ormiston Hospital

2009 saw the arrival of Ormiston Hospital, a cutting edge facility in South Auckland. Incorporating six operating theatres, a 12 bed recovery unit, day patient recovery unit, close observation unit and 32 in-patient beds, this site required a range of specialised door solutions that provided security, hygienic hands-free access and versatility.

Canam Interiors, the contractor, have a good relationship with CS FOR DOORS, and recommended the client visit the CS showroom in Auckland. Several consultations between Canam, CS and the client resulted in a range of door systems to meet their specific needs: The surgical theatres contain six automatic FramelessGlass cavity sliders that operate via large push buttons that can be pushed with an elbow. The reception area is sealed off after hours from the 24 hour lobby with CornerMeeting NewYorker doors, providing style and security. Eight automatic timber cavity sliders lead to the drug rooms and laboratories. These provide self-closing locking security. The recovery hall is divided into separate rooms with CornerMeeting NewYorker cavity slider and surface sliders.
